Kathak Dancer Pallavi Shome

Pallavi was born in a distinguished family with rich cultural heritage. She was inclined towards dance from an early age and started her training at the age of seven from Kathak Kendra in Delhi. While at Kathak Kendra, she learned the nuances of Kathak under the tutelage of esteemed gurus like Guru Bharti Gupta, Guru Reba Vidyarthi and Guru Munna Lal Shukla. Pallavi excelled at Kathak Kendra and was a scholarship holder. She completed her Post diploma and then went on to do her Nritya Nipun from the renowned Bhatkhande University of Music, Lucknow.

Pallavi’s dance repertoire is very traditional and classical and at the same time has the stamp of her strong self-expression and innovation. Pallavi has performed at prestigious festivals like the “Kathak Mahotsav” and “Chhatra Utsav”. Pallavi’s recent performances have been “Guru Arpan” in memory of her Late Guru Reba Vidyarthi in Nagpur, “Smriti Sangeetutsav” at Benares in the memory of Padma Vibhushan Pandit Kishan Maharajji , Sandipani Sangeet Mahotsav, organized by Sandipani Vidyaniketan at Porbandar, Girnar Mahotsav at Junagadh and Nrithanrithyathi held at Bhilai recently.
