Unusual Pairing!

The love of celluloid knows no boundaries! Ask real life cousins Utkarsh Majumdar and Meenal Patel, maa and baapu of I. M. Virani on COLORS Mukti Bandhan. Shedding all their inhibitions the two veteran Gujarati actors agreed to be a part of the show based on the book of the same name by Harkishan Mehta. The cousins who portray the lovable characters of Kesar and Master, have been receiving a great response from the audience too. When asked about this unusual pairing, Utkarsh said, “Meenal is my third cousin and also ties me a Rakhi every year. But, we are actors in reel life, a role is a role and we play characters. Acting is our bread and butter and we mould into various characters.” And echoing the same sentiments, Meenal adds, “It’s just acting and nothing else. Utkarsh is my cousin from mother’s side and both of us have been acting from such a long time. It’s all about playing your role and fitting into your characters.” Now that’s one professional bhai-behen ki Jodi we must say!
